Chris Martin has been an art instructor at the Shippensburg Area Senior High School since 1998. He holds an M.S. in Educational Strategies from Wilkes University, a B.S. in Art Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a B.F.A. in Drawing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. In addition to teaching his art classes, Mr. Martin is a member of the Greyhound Foundation's Board of Trustees and Arts Committee, is co-advisor to the National Art Honor Society, is the advisor of the Social Activism Club and advises the SASHS Coffeehouse Club. In 2012, he was nominated for the WGAL/Rotary Teacher Impact Award which honors excellence among Susquehanna Valley educators. In 2013, he was honored by the Points of Light Foundation in recognition of his volunteer service.
Outside of school, Mr. Martin is a freelance graphic designer and artist and conducts camps and workshops in both set design and children’s art using both digital and traditional media.
Mr. Martin joined the district in 1997.
